At our latest Business Unusual meetup, sales professionals discovered how to boost efficiency and results using AI-powered tools, guided by practical insights from Omnisearch’s Tanya Bendiš Šajn.
On March 13, Infinum’s Zagreb headquarters once again welcomed the business development community for the third installment of our Business Unusual event series. Titled “Selling Smarter with AI,” this edition focused on innovative strategies for leveraging AI in sales, attracting numerous sales professionals eager to exchange ideas and learn tips and tricks from industry peers.
While previous editions featured panel discussions, this event adopted a different format – a focused talk by Tanya Bendiš Šajn, Director of Operations at Omnisearch. Recommended by the community for her expertise in the matter, Tanya provided actionable advice on automating sales workflows, enhancing lead generation, and refining social selling strategies with AI tools.

AI in sales should focus on simplicity and efficiency – Tanya Bendiš šajn
“As AI increasingly shapes every aspect of business, it’s important to explore how even small teams can effectively utilize AI-driven sales strategies,” Tanya noted. “Croatia is a big adopter of AI innovation, and I wanted to show how integrating these tools in the sales process doesn’t have to be intimidating or costly – even for beginners in the field.”
Simplifying sales with AI
An omnipresent buzzword and industry trend, artificial intelligence continues to disrupt established business practices, and business development is no exception. Teams have been experimenting with the growing number of tools in the market ever since the initial AI boom. Now, as many of these solutions have comfortably settled in workflows, it was a perfect time to swap experiences and talk about best practices.

Videos are highly effective for social selling, and even B2B companies can leverage the power of AI-driven video tools to create sales pitches that get 20% more views compared to standard cold emails and messages.

According to Tanya, AI in sales should primarily focus on simplicity and efficiency: “There are countless AI- and ML-powered apps and software solutions that can expedite your work, but the key is choosing the one that is the right fit for you.”
In a practical demonstration, Tanya showcased several apps her own team regularly uses for tasks such as lead generation, market analysis, analytics, and internal reporting. Her top recommendation was Zapier: “Start by automating simple, repetitive tasks like calendar invites, meeting notes, or email optimization.”
She also highlighted the importance of clear and professional communication, recommending tools such as Grammarly: “With so many accessible solutions today, poorly written emails full of errors simply aren’t acceptable in 2025.”
And for those wanting to take their sales pitches to the next level, Tanya recommends leveraging AI-driven video tools. “Videos are highly effective for social selling, and even B2B companies can benefit from its appeal. Video sales pitches get 20% more views compared to standard cold emails and messages.”
Empowering smaller teams
One major benefit of AI highlighted during the talk is its ability to empower smaller teams by simplifying complex or resource-intensive tasks.
“AI enables our sales team to independently create graphics, charts, and pitch decks, tasks that used to require dedicated marketing or design teams. This is crucial for startups and smaller businesses looking to grow without huge budgets,” Tanya explained.

Continuing the conversation
The engaging Q&A session that concluded Tanya’s presentation proved that the topic of AI never fails to prompt people to action. Meanwhile, the success of Business Unusual’s third edition showed that the local business development community is still eager to share experiences and learn from one another.
As the series continues, it promises to build on this momentum, delivering valuable insights and helping sales professionals stay on top of evolving industry practices.
