Expert cloud penetration testing services for AWS, Azure & GCP
Cloud breaches rarely come from a single misconfiguration. They come from the identity paths that connect several of them, and posture management tools score each issue in isolation. We simulate real-world attacks against your AWS, Azure, GCP and hybrid infrastructure to show which weaknesses chain together into a breach.
Cloud penetration testing by CREST- and CHECK-accredited experts
Find and fix security gaps in your cloud infrastructure before hackers can exploit them. Uncover cloud misconfigurations, exposed services, identity and permission weaknesses, privilege-escalation opportunities, and attack paths to sensitive resources or data.
AMR CyberSecurity – Part of Infinum, delivers manual cloud penetration testing led by specialists in exploitation, research and adversary tradecraft. AMR holds NCSC CHECK, CREST and STAR accreditations.
Want to know which of your cloud weaknesses an attacker could actually chain together?
Benefits of cloud pen testing
Our cloud pen testing services offer controlled simulations of real-world attacks on your AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and hybrid environments. A cloud pen test tells you what configuration reviews can’t: how far an attacker could get, and through which route. Our goal is to identify weaknesses you may not know about. We assess how well your existing defenses are working and what you can do to increase resilience.
Here is how we help you defend your cloud systems:
Identify cloud vulnerabilities before attackers exploit them
To fix vulnerabilities, you must first know they exist. We simulate real-world attacks across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and hybrid environments to uncover misconfigurations, exposed services, identity issues, and permission gaps that threat actors could exploit.
See the attack paths your tooling misses
Security posture tools flag misconfigurations one by one. We test how they combine: which exposed service leads to which identity, and which identity leads to your data.
Prevent unauthorised access and privilege escalation
Our testing uncovers any weaknesses in IAM, access controls, and permissions that could allow an attacker to gain additional privileges or access resources they should not.
Protect sensitive cloud resources and data
We demonstrate how an attacker could compromise your cloud resources and data with a thorough assessment. This gives your team evidence of where security controls need strengthening to protect these critical assets.
Prioritise remediation based on actual risk
Our findings include risk ratings, proof of exploitation, root-cause analysis, and remediation guidance, helping your technical teams focus on vulnerabilities that could have the greatest impact. This risk-based approach can also support broader enterprise cyber risk management across your organisation.
Confirm your fixes work
After remediation, we retest to verify each vulnerability is closed and issue an updated report with a non-technical summary for leadership.
Our cloud penetration testing services
Each cloud platform fails in its own way. We tailor testing to yours:
Amazon Web Services (AWS) penetration testing
In AWS, the most common issue we find is IAM misconfiguration that grants access to resources and data. We test for overly permissive IAM roles and policies, cross-account trust relationships, and service credentials with more access than intended.
Microsoft Azure penetration testing
Azure environments have their own vulnerabilities, including the connections between your cloud and on-premises systems. We have found that Entra ID synchronisation can create an attack path from a compromised on-premises Active Directory environment to your cloud tenant.Entra ID synchronisation can create an attack path from a compromised on-premises Active Directory to your cloud tenant, and password writeback can open the reverse route. We keep these specific risks in mind in our Azure penetration testing, alongside our usual assessments of misconfigurations, exposed services, identity issues, and permission gaps.
Google Cloud penetration testing
Similarly, Google Cloud environments have their own frequently occurring risks. Our tests examine cloud IAM and access controls alongside Google Cloud resources such as GCS buckets, where overly broad access policies can give users or services more access than they require. We check for excessive internal permissions that allow compromised accounts to access sensitive data that should be restricted to specific roles or teams, along with other exposures.
Hybrid cloud environments penetration testing
Hybrid environments require a different testing approach because workloads can span on-premises infrastructure and multiple cloud environments. Our approach tests integrations that commonly have misconfigurations, such as VPN tunnels, Active Directory synchronisation services, and API gateways connecting legacy and cloud applications.
Containers, Kubernetes and serverless
Managed Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, GKE) and serverless functions add their own attack surface: over-privileged workload identities, exposed control planes, and secrets stored in environment variables. We test how a compromised container or function could reach the wider cloud account.
Areas we assess in your cloud environment
Cloud misconfiguration
Insecure configuration of storage, networking, logging and compute. Cloud environments change fast, and configuration drift creates as much exposure as technical flaws.
Exposed services
We assess potential weaknesses in cloud services reachable from outside your environment that an attacker could exploit. These could include public web applications, cloud storage, or an API endpoint. Not only do we look at what an attacker could exploit individually, but we also assess whether these could provide an entry point into your wider infrastructure.
Identity and access weaknesses
We highlight identity issues and permission gaps as key areas of our assessment. Whether your cloud infrastructure has weaknesses in authentication, authorisation, or cloud access controls, we will identify these and advise on remediation.
Privilege escalation
We test the routes an attacker could use to turn low-privilege access into administrative control, such as an attacker with a standard user account abusing misconfigured roles to gain admin rights.
Lateral movement
We test whether compromising one resource or workload gives an attacker a route to others, including higher-value systems.
Our cloud penetration testing process
Rather than relying solely on automated scanning, our experts use a manual and tailored testing methodology to ensure you get the best results for your business.
We follow four stages:
01 SCOPE
First, we work with you to define a precise testing scope based on your architecture, threat profile, business priorities, and attack surface. This ensures we test the right areas aligned with your priorities and goals.
02 Test
At this stage, our security consultants conduct manual penetration testing, using tools selectively to support deeper analysis. This includes assessing authentication, authorisation, configuration, business logic, and exploitation paths. Meanwhile, we keep your team in the loop and report critical vulnerabilities immediately, so you do not have to wait for a final report.
03 Report
You will already be aware of any major weaknesses in your cloud infrastructure by now, but you will also receive a highly detailed technical report once testing concludes to ensure you have all the information you need to improve resilience. This includes proof of exploitation, root-cause analysis, risk ratings, and remediation recommendations. We will walk you through all our findings.
04 Retest
Finally, after remediations are put in place, we will continue our support by performing a retest to verify that vulnerabilities have been addressed successfully. We are committed to ensuring that risks have actually been reduced. You will then receive an updated report, presented in an accessible way for stakeholders and leadership.

Testing tailored to your cloud environment
Every cloud environment differs in architecture, permissions, attack surface, and more. We recognise this and scope each test around your individual threat profile, business priorities, and critical assets.
For hybrid environments, our methodology also examines the connections between cloud and on-premises infrastructure rather than treating them as completely separate systems.
Findings your team can act on
Our assessment goes beyond a list of vulnerabilities. We provide proof of exploitation, root-cause analysis, risk ratings, and remediation guidance to help your technical teams understand what a weakness means and what needs to change. Our experts also communicate critical vulnerabilities during the assessment rather than holding them until the final report, with retesting available after remediation.
