In 2005, when the tech landscape was much different than today, two friends started Infinum at a kitchen table. Twenty years later, we’re still building – with some more experience, and a lot more people.
Twenty years ago, there was no Instagram.
No Zoom calls. No TikTok.
Mark Zuckerberg was still a Harvard student, Apple was riding high on the success of the iPod, and YouTube had just launched. The world looked quite different from today.
That same year, Infinum was born.
Building from the ground up
Co-founded by Matej Špoler and Tomislav Car, with its first headquarters at Matej’s parents’ house.

MATEJ ŠPOLER AND TOMISLAV CAR – NOT FROM 2005 AND NOT IN FRONT OF MATEJ’S PARENTS’ PLACE, BUT CLOSE ENOUGH
Back then, we couldn’t imagine the company becoming what it is today. In 2005, nobody talked about scaling, vision, or acquisitions. We just wanted to solve interesting problems with technology. And we still do.
Except now, we’re no longer a couple of friends sitting around Matej’s mom’s kitchen table or in that first tiny rented office, building on ambition alone. Today, we’re a few hundred experts across multiple countries, creating digital products for some of the world’s leading brands.
In good company
How did we get here? Not by ambition alone.
Building a company is never just one story. It’s thousands of moments stitched together – some exciting, some difficult, most of them unseen.
We owe the biggest thanks to our team – for every feature shipped, every deadline met, every deadline missed (and the aftermath successfully resolved), every careful bug fix, every pixel placed with intention, every tough conversation, every client call, and every small win that added up to something meaningful. You’ve shaped the work, the culture, and the kind of company Infinum is today. Thank you.

None of this would be possible without our clients and partners, either. By trusting us with your ideas and challenges, you’ve pushed us to think bigger, be better, and come up with innovative solutions to sneaky problems. The industry calls you stakeholders – we’re lucky to call many of you friends. We don’t take that for granted.
Many others have been part of this journey, too. Those who advised us, reported about us, collaborated with us, or left another kind of mark on our twenty-year timeline. You all played a part, and we’re better for it.
From 2005 to ∞
Building a company is never just one story.
It’s thousands of moments stitched together – some exciting, some difficult, most of them unseen. And here we are, twenty years later. Still building. Still learning. Still showing up with curiosity and care.
I’m proud of what we’ve achieved and excited about what’s to come. Since 2005, the iPod has been discontinued, Instagram was bought by that Harvard dropout, and YouTube now hosts AI-generated videos. Technology keeps evolving, and so will we.

What won’t change is our commitment to doing work we’re proud of, with people we respect, for problems worth solving.
The next chapter begins.
Thank you for being part of this one.
