Our initiative for giving back to the community through volunteering work and donations recently got a local extension. Infinum Slovenia established its own Foundation team, and they have big plans for local actions with a global impact.
Infinum Slovenia started a new chapter of compassion and community engagement. Recently, our colleagues from the land of the Alps established a local initiative that extends the efforts of Infinum Foundation.
Driven by a shared goal, six passionate individuals came together to spark positive change in their community. Their mission is simple yet profound – to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need.
Worthy causes, worthy goals
For years, we’ve been donating 1% of our profits to support initiatives and causes we believe in through Infinum Foundation. With a primary focus on projects involving children and young people, the Foundation is not just our way of giving back to the community but an investment into a better future.
In line with this, the Slovene branch has set its aims to align with the core values of the main Foundation while also addressing specific local needs.
“The importance of giving back to the community we are part of is paramount to us,” said Anže Pureber, JavaScript engineer and one of the Slovene volunteers. “Infinum has always grown around the concepts of support and mentorship within the company. We believe that through direct actions, either through donations or investing our time and knowledge, we can support people in our community and help those in need.”
Infinum Foundation Slovenia is dedicated to supporting three key areas:

One of the group’s primary focuses is on preserving the environment and protecting the natural world. The health of the planet directly impacts the well-being of all its inhabitants, and through their initiatives, the Slovene Foundation aims to raise awareness about environmental issues, organize community clean-up drives, and support conservation efforts.
Investing in tomorrow’s leaders
When we invest in the growth and well-being of our youngest, we lay the foundation for a more prosperous and equitable society. By creating opportunities for education, mentorship, and personal development, the Foundation wants to empower children and adolescents to reach their full potential.
Supporting essential services and community needs
From firefighters risking their lives to keep us safe to educational institutions shaping young minds, these sectors play a vital role in upholding the fabric of society. The Foundation is committed to supporting essential services and actively collaborating with the educational sector to address their specific needs and challenges.

Material assistance – providing essentials to those in need
In times of hardship, material assistance can significantly impact individuals and families facing adversity. The Foundation is committed to collecting essentials like clothing, food, and household items to distribute to those in need. Through these efforts, they aim to alleviate some of the burdens faced by their fellow community members and demonstrate that we’re all in this together.
If you want to change the world, start in your own backyard
Our Slovene Foundation team took the saying above very seriously, so their first organized action was – cleaning up the surroundings of their office space. Armed with gloves and trash bags, the team eagerly pitched in to spruce up the area, setting the tone for the meaningful work ahead.
Meaningful work indeed ensued as the Slovene Foundation made its first donation last month. The recipients were three talented primary school students representing Slovenia at the VEX Worlds robotics championship in the USA. The contribution aimed to alleviate some of the financial burdens associated with travel and participation, allowing these students to focus on pushing the boundaries of creativity and ingenuity in robotics.
