Who are we

We are a team of 40+ people (Engineers, Designers, Product Owners, Project Managers, System Architects & more) working with Philips Domestic Appliances and their digital products. Our goal is to simplify the everyday life of Philips’ customers by creating user friendly apps and products.

We work in multiple cross-functional agile teams, developing backend platform and mobile apps. One of the apps we are developing is Philips NutriU, feel free to check it out and find your favorite recipe!

Who are we
looking for?

& Experience
  • a university degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics, or related fields 
  • understanding of data analytics and statistics, good understanding of IT, an understanding of machine learning is a plus
  • experience working with data analysis with a business perspective (experience in managing data-oriented teams is a plus)
  • experience with data wrangling
  • technical background and technical skills
  • excellent knowledge of SQL, experience with relational databases and one or more databases like Hadoop, AWS Redshift, Snowflake, etc.
  • good ETL scripting and programming skills, such as Python, R, or Scala, are a plus
  • familiarity with data science practices and popular ML methods is a plus
  • experience in visualizing data using visual analytics tools (e.g., with Qlik Sense, Tableau, Data Studio)
  • ability to prioritize and manage work in a fast-paced environment
  • understanding of safety, security, privacy, and legal issues relevant to digital products
  • strong communication and data presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate project status and results to a broad range of audiences, including leadership and technical developers
  • familiarity with agile product organizations 
  • excellent command of written and spoken English

  • maintaining and re-engineering existing ETLs to increase data accuracy, data stability, and pipeline performance
  • assisting stakeholders in defining KPIs and goals, identifying trends, evaluating the success and metrics of the project
  • utilizing data to drive business decisions and make recommendations to stakeholders
  • communicating predictions and findings through effective data visualizations and reports
  • gaining customer behavior insights from real data
  • finding patterns and relationships in data
  • approaching high-level challenges with a clear eye on what is important
  • showing initiative, proactively researching various possible advancements and innovations
  • detailing your techniques and discoveries to technical and non-technical audiences in a language they can understand
  • using advanced data analysis to prepare data for prediction and other ML models

We use Slack for work and for fun. It’s our go-to tool for maintaining sanity both in office and remote.

We use Confluence as a collaboration tool which helps our teams to cooperate and share knowledge efficiently.
We use Firebase for mobile app data collection and a quick overview of the most important app metrics.
Highly scalable and cost-effective cloud data warehouse used for storing and analyzing user behavior data.
A deck of open tools and standards we use for education, research, and data analytics.
Data Studio
It’s a tool from Google we use to build informative, easy-to-read, easy-to-share, and fully customizable dashboards and reports, to present insights to stakeholders.
Qlik Sense
We use Qlik Sense to transform raw data into actionable insights, in order to make smarter decisions and drive better outcomes.
