Product Owner

We are a team of 30+ people (Engineers, Designers, Product Owners, Project Managers, System Architects & more) working with Philips Domestic Appliances and their digital products. Our goal is to simplify the everyday life of Philips’ customers by creating user friendly apps and products.

We work in multiple cross-functional agile teams, developing backend platform and mobile apps. One of the apps we are developing is Philips NutriU, feel free to check it out and find your favorite recipe!

Who are we
looking for?

& Experience
  • Someone with a university degree in informatics, electrical engineering, computing, economics or related fields
  • In-depth understanding of business and good understanding of IT
  • 2+ years of experience in defining or implementing digital projects
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Understanding of safety, security, privacy and legal aspects related to digital products
  • Experience delivering at least one major product where you had the role of a Product Owner
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to effectively communicate recommendations to a broad range of audiences including leadership, internal business clients and technical developers
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • Independent and goal-driven personality
  • Above average decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • A high sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • A pragmatic problem solver and out-of-the-box analytical thinker
  • Experience working with project management tools like JIRA
  • Ability to synthesize information and prioritize business goals
  • Communication with the product stakeholders and leading the product vision for the team
  • Defining and writing user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Closely collaborating with UX & UI designers to define the best possible user experience
  • Closely cooperating and coordinating the project with Scrum Master
  • Obtaining acceptance and alignment from stakeholders for the proposed scope and document requirements along with prioritization
  • Working with the technology team on delivering the scope that generates business value
  • Driving day-to-day prioritization of work operations, projects and scope; troubleshooting reported issues and escalate when appropriate
  • Working with a cross-functional team to translate customer needs and technology directions into new or enhanced features and services
  • Gathering customer feedback to validate that the product works against stated metrics

Tools we use

We use Productive for time tracking, budgeting and project management. It helps us to have all the information in one place.
On some projects, we also use Jira for product development/task management.
We use Slack for work and for fun. It’s our go-to tool for maintaining sanity both in office and remote.
Through the years we’ve built a vast repository of knowledge related to project management and agile methodologies.
We use Figma for collaborating on designing our projects. It helps us to deliver value to our customers more efficiently.
On some projects, we also use Zeplin for easier communication and collaboration during projects design and implementation.
We use InVision to communicate with both Designers and clients in order to polish our designs.
We use TestRail as a test case management tool so we can keep an eye on our projects.
We use Confluence as a collaboration tool which helps our teams to cooperate and share knowledge efficiently.
